Stardew Valley’s jam-packed 1.5 update reminds us why this is our eternal game

Stardew valley is an idyllic digital space to escape from after a long year – and thanks to the 1.5 update available today on PC, you can now bring friends and family to your farm with a local cooperative with a split screen. The multiplayer update A few years ago it made it possible to play and share farms online, but with this local co-op addition you can do the same with the people you actually live with, even if they do not have their own copy of the game .

You can offer the opportunity for local collaboration by having Robin the Carpenter build huts on your farm, or if you are starting from scratch, you can choose to have the huts built already when you make a new game. Once the cabins are built, you can start local collaboration for up to three other people from the menu. The 1.5 update also adds a new “Beach Farm” map that contains sandy soil that can clog sprinklers, and “Advanced Game Options” in the creation of characters that allow you to randomize bundles in the community center and rewards in the mine.

The full release notes for the update contains even more surprises. The most striking that had Stardew valley fans at The edge excited to return to the game is the ability to sit on chairs (yes, really), a change in the social tab in the game so it shows you who you’ve been talking to every day, and a new article for a coffee maker brews a fresh cup every morning.

The special thing of Stardew valley is that it is so full of features and so consistently updated that every little change can mean something to someone. Following a routine that you follow every day in the game makes it easier to appreciate the little things that streamline the processes.

It was an updated social page and a coffee maker in this update, but it might as well be something different next time. No matter how small the function or solution is, Stardew valley updates are a reminder that the game is always exciting and surprising to return to. This is a comfortable “eternal” game in a normal year and a great solution to pandemic blues if you need it.

Stardew valley‘s 1.5 Update is now available on a computer. The update will come to consoles and mobile phones in early 2021.
